Mon Dieu, moi, a thief!
I knew that pesky Christmas tree would mean nothing but trouble. It has tempted me yet again towards the gates of misfortune. Yesterday, she very neatly stacked some interesting packages beneath it. Was this some form of barrier, well yes I supposed it could be, but barriers are obstacles that are meant to be breached you know, I learnt that as a small one. So taking advice from my infallible memory, remembering the fact that this edifice is very unstable, I advanced with extreme caution. Most objects were of no interest to a discerning Cocker Spaniel, there were however, two that were, to my superior scent receptors, worthy of my attention. One was round, smelt divine; if it wasn’t mine it ought to be. I edged it out carefully and was in the advanced stages of unwrapping when I was caught, by him. Unwrapping Christmas presents before Christmas is highly unlucky, I was told in no uncertain terms, also if the gift was not mine, (it was, I know, it squeaks) it would be theft. Mon Dieu, moi, a thief! My Dear Maman, as I have told you before never brought me up to be a thief. This statement is wholly and utterly untrue so is of no account. Je m’en fiche.
It looks very damp and wet out there again this morning. I will be seeing more of the plastic bowl no doubt.
I am as always

Cheapseats: She is not pleased with you for opening your presents early. She says it is no wonder I am like I am you had far to much influence, when I was a small one.
Jane Avison: Nice to see you back in print, I always enjoy your comments, they always come with an inner knowledge and sympathy for my plight. LGSx
